Our culture is centered on individualism and those who go out of their way to help without expecting any remuneration are shunned or deemed to be pretenders. This is one the reasons why many professionals in the healthcare shun away from spiritual calling (sulmasy 9).According to the romans 12:1-16, the healer needs healing to heal others.as a healing I need to believe in Christ and his powers.it is only then that all the knowledge and expertise I have will fall into its rightful place and thus healing of the patient. The healer should have spiritual healing and total trust in the abilities of god over every situation. This belief enables us to und erstand that we dont possess the ability to cure and thus helps us to eliminate our ego. We thus solely rely on Christs power and then we begin our journey in spiritual calling.Koening propounded the need to understand the relationship between spirituality and healing. According to Koenig we need to understand the patient and let him give his story without directing the patient or showing any element of jugdement.this goes a long in the healing process. Doing that builds trust and confidence in the patient and thus becomes enthusiastic. The patient develops a positive mindset which is one step in the healing process. Some diseases develop as a result of stress, giving an ambient environment for patients to open up while providing guidance from religion helps such patients to take a step in healing and to take refuge in God.To be a good Samaritan in healthcare means to have a compassionate heart,a listening ear and words of encouragement derived from religion. There are core values s uch as selflessness that one ought to have to be able to be a good Samaritan. The calling should come from the heart. Having a lot of concern about the patient and praying together with the patient is not an easy task.it is obvious that some members of your healthcare team will be skeptical and discouraging but constant belief in Christ and his powers will overcome those challenges.
